Rimidi Partners with GatewayMD, Expands Remote Patient Monitoring Footprint

The partnership brings together traditional telemedicine and Remote Patient Monitoring care management services.

Nov. 16, 2020 – Atlanta – Rimidi, a cloud-based software platform that enables personalized management of health conditions across populations, today announced a partnership with GatewayMD, a telehealth company that enhances care access between patients and their providers.

Using Rimidi’s platform, GatewayMD will now offer providers a care team-led turnkey remote patient monitoring (RPM) program, adding to its existing telemedicine platform and expanding the company’s suite of solutions that enable a virtual model of care.

The Rimidi platform combines patient-generated data from cellular-enabled connected devices with relevant clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR) to drive patient-specific clinical insights and actions with embedded clinical decision support cards. The platform integrates seamlessly with most major EHRs, and supports multiple disease states, with specific views for type 2 diabetes, heart failure, cardiovascular disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and obesity.

“One of the biggest challenges with RPM programs is managing, monitoring and engaging patients at scale. By leveraging great products like Rimidi’s RPM technology and GatewayMD’s telemedicine platform and care team, clinicians can enroll more patients into their RPM program while decreasing overall workload,” said Milan Nesic, Chief Executive Officer of GatewayMD.

In the 2020 Medicare Physician’s Fee Schedule (PFS Final Rule, target: _blank) the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) stated that RPM could be furnished by auxiliary personnel—like a care management team—under general supervision of the billing physician. “With this year’s new CMS rules, GatewayMD can now offer a care team to help monitor patients enrolled in RPM programs,” Nesic added.

“We are strong believers that proactive, continuous, virtual models of care are key to improving outcomes and reducing costs of chronic conditions,” said Josh Claman, Chief Executive Officer of Rimidi. “Working with industry partners like GatewayMD allows us to expand our reach to support more providers and care teams with our market leading platform.”
